MED RETURN
There are several medication return locations in the greater New Paltz community.

Anyone can bring their unwanted, leftover, or expired medications to the following locations. Medications are collected from the bin and sealed in a box that is brought to a nearby disposal site where they are incinerated. The medication received is not cataloged and is anonymous. Anyone can choose to remove the label from a container, or dump the medications into a paper or plastic bag, if they prefer.

Medication Disposal
Thanks to SUNY New Paltz's NPSAFE Coalition, an initiative funded through the New York State Office on Alcoholism & Substance Abuse, we have a number of FREE home medication disposal bags available for those residing within the New Paltz School district's catchment area.

These home disposal bags are available to individuals who may not be able to access one of the community locations, especially during this period of social/physical distancing. Each DeTerra bag has a special patented compound that binds to the medications and neutralizes them, making them an environmentally safe alternative for disposal.

We remind everyone that NYS prohibits the disposal of medications by flushing down a toilet, thereby impacting our local environment and water supplied.
Please use any of the options or resources being made available to you.
